I was very happy to discover the video program 'Fitness for Chronic Illness'. This program, specifically designed for you and me, was created by certified personal trainer (and former Israel Defense Forces trainer), Leon Kesler with Tova Rott, a former chronic illness sufferer and alternative healing practitioner. Tova and Leon take a holistic approach to wellness to help us gain the benefits of movement. Step-by-step you increase your level of endurance, strength and flexibility, moving ahead at your own pace. The combination of visualization, exercise and meditation helps improve your quality of life and wellness, and it's FUN!
The video offers an 8 week program with each level of exercise intended to be experienced for two weeks. Each level includes a pre-workout visualization, approximately 30 minutes of exercise, and a short post-exercise meditation to relax body and mind. A bonus meditation video is included for day's when you feel too ill to workout. The program's initial level offers a solid workout that I found to be challenging. But as they stress, you do as much as you can and work your way up. I felt satisfied that my body was doing what it was intended to do -- MOVE -- and I was relaxed and confident that I could go forward with my fitness and health.
I highly recommend this video if you are ready to regain a level of fitness that you had lost due to illness, chronic or acute.
